Too often we hear from people that have taken company classes and still don’t speak the languages they studied. Why? Because they had no motivation, and language class became a great way to relax in the middle of the work day. We like to do something that is called “positive accountability.” Learning a language under the threat of punishment never really works out that well. However, if you give an employee an incentive to continue with language classes, it gives them the drive to study, and it makes the whole idea of learning a language a lot more fun.
